Blake Harrison Obituary, Death – Blake Harrison, a noise musician, died of heart failure following a minor operation. Harrison is well known for his work with Pig Destroyer, where he handled samples and other band stuff for nearly 20 years till 2022. Lindsey Turnbullet, Harrison’s partner, wrote a touching essay explaining his loss and mentioning his battle with cancer as well as other health difficulties.
He oversaw a plethora of additional projects, including the amusing Hatebeak, Zealot R.I.P., Tentacles of God, and Triac, in addition to Pig Destroyer. Blake was not only a talented artist but also a kind person who was generous with his time and attention to his friends and admirers. Only 49 years old was he. According to a message from his partner and the innumerable tributes from other bands and members of the metal scene that have been flooding social media, Blake had been fighting and winning the battle against cancer for the past few years.
However, during a routine treatment, he passed away from heart failure. Although Blake left the group in 2022, he contributed significantly to more than a dozen of the group’s albums since 2006. He played a key role in the band’s albums, including Phantom Limb, the album he released with them, and Book Burner.
He was a fixture in the scene when we were cutting our teeth as a young band in Baltimore, another Baltimore band Noisem stated. We wouldn’t be where we are as a band if it weren’t for the fortuitous encounter with Blake, who was always a lot of fun to hang out and chat with.
Had it not been for his fervour and faith in our group, we would not have released our debut album on a record label or engaged in any of the insane activities that have ensued. We were taken under Blake and Pig Destroyer’s wing and often found ourselves on sick bills, which provided us a huge boost when we needed it. Blake is so humorous, generous, and kind that we really cannot express our gratitude.
