Tanya Powell, Obituary, Death, Adelaide’s Iconic South Australian Identity Tanya Powell Has Passed Away

Tanya Powell, Obituary, Death – Tanya Powell, a well-known model from Adelaide, passed away on Saturday at the age of 71 after a courageous fight with ovarian cancer. Powell taught modeling and manners to generations of South Australians.

“Everyone knew and respected Tanya Powell,” claimed Rachel Sanderson, a former member of parliament and owner of her own modeling school, speaking to Sonya & Jules. The late Tanya Powell was the first woman of modelling in Adelaide.

On Saturday, at the age of 72, the creator of the Tanya Powell Model Agency passed away following a protracted struggle with ovarian cancer. Ms. Powell established her well-known firm in 1975 in Adelaide; it later expanded to Melbourne.

Dorothy Gay Fortner Hanna, a daughter of George Thomas Fortner and Vertis Powell. John Edward Fortner (Julia), Dawn Fortner Peavey Anderson (Charles), Frances Stewart (Lisa), George Hanna (Anne), David Hanna, Donna Fortner Dunnican (Ronnie), Picheska Marrero, John Fortner, Jr., Joe Peavey (Jennifer), Marc Peavey, and April Peavey Brewer (David) are some of her surviving children and grandchildren.

She also leaves behind great-grandchildren Burgundy Hanna Moore (Brittney), Joseph Hanna, Sophie Hanna, Hailey Moore and Avery Dunnican, as well as Conner and Heath Peavey and Andrew, Kira, and Naomi Brewer. On Saturday, January 1, services were held.

Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Tanya will miss her tremendously. Shirley Clark, her mother, passed away before her. Her grandchildren, Mia, Carmella, Izsabella, Angelina, Jeremy Jr., Gianna, Wynter, and Augustin, as well as her children, Stepheny Schmidt (Jeremy), Dale Powell (Brittany), Devin Powell (Lyndsey), and Adriana Powell (Stephen), were her joy and strength.

In addition to her siblings, cousins, nieces, and nephews, Tanya is survived by her aunts and uncles, including Vincent Impastato Jr. (Claire), Chris Clark, Suzanne Rudiger (Michael), and Deborah Perry (Floyd).

Her lifelong best friend, Royal Ann Billiot, is also here. Farewell, Tanya Powell; may your light and sprit continue to shine brilliantly in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved you.
