Stanley Hopeman Obituary, Death – On Saturday, March 9, 2024, Stanley, who was 59 years old, passed away in a calm and relaxing manner at his residence. His devoted wife Elaine was by his side at the time of his passing. We regretfully announce this news with heavy hearts. He was a wonderful friend to many people, as well as a beloved brother to Tommy and Sandra, a proud stepfather to Leoni, and a grandparent to Bodhi and Archie. His absence will be keenly felt by everyone. On Friday, March 22, at 1.45 p.m., the funeral ceremony for Stan will be place at the Church of Scotland in Hopeman.
Following the service, the body will be transported to Duffus Cemetery. All persons are welcome to attend. Please send only flowers from family members, and if you so wish, you can leave money at the church door for the Renal Unit in Elgin, Friends of the Oaks, or Marie Curie.On Tuesday, December 12, 2017, she passed away at Grafton Aurora Medical Center, where she had been a patient for the previous four days. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing. Sheboygan was the location of Deb’s birth on February 3, 1954. Her parents, LeRoy and Arline Meyer Lammers, both passed away before she was born.
Deb received her high school diploma from Oostburg in the year 1972. The wedding took place in the First Reformed Church in Oostburg on December 4, 1982, and it was attended by Mark Hopeman. A dairy farm was owned by Deb and her husband, and it was located in the town of Holland.
In addition to that, she worked in the food service department for the Oostburg and Cedar Grove-Belgium Public School Superintendents. In her role as a food service coordinator and cook, as well as a former Sunday School teacher and custodian, Deb was an active member of First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove.
She discovered that she found meaning in serving others via her work there. The Sheboygan County Farm Bureau was a group that she and her husband helped to organize.
Deb was a flower gardener who also enjoyed decorating, shopping, sewing, visiting to Door County, and going on Sunday rides with her husband. Her enthusiasm for flower gardening began when she was young. However, the thing that she enjoyed the most was spending time with and taking care of her grandkids.
Deb is survived by her husband, Mark, of Cedar Grove; one daughter, Michelle fiancé Myles Treptow Hopeman of Cedar Grove; three sons, Kevin Tanya Hopeman, Daniel Traci Hopeman, and Jason Jeni Hopeman, all of Cedar Grove; eight grandchildren, Natalie, Austin, and TJ Hopeman, Madelyn, Deacon and Bria Hopeman, and Noah and Lauren Hopeman; one brother, Stanley Wendy Lammers of Oostburg; a sister-in-law, Carol Lloyd DeRuyter of Cedar Grove; a brother-in-law, Harland Marian Hopeman of Oostburg; nieces and nephews.
A daughter named Amy Hopeman, two newborn grandkids named Parker and Evan Hopeman, and one brother named Jim Lammers all passed away before Deb. Her parents, LeRoy and Arline Lammers, as well as her in-laws, William and Alma Hopeman, were also among those who passed away before her.
The Reverend Chris Schaefer will preside over the funeral service that will be held at the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at 10 am. The funeral service will be held in celebration of Deb’s life.
This will be followed by the interment at the Cedar Grove Cemetery. In Oostburg, family and friends will assemble at the Wenig Funeral Home on Friday from three to eight o’clock in the evening, and at the church on Saturday from nine in the morning until the time of the service at ten in the morning. The First Reformed Church and the Cedar Grove First Responders are going to benefit from the establishment of a memorial fund that will be established in Deb’s honor.
