Riller Byrd Obituary, Death – My mother, Riller Byrd, passed away when she was in the afternoon yesterday. It is not a time of sorrow for us; rather, it is a time of joy. It was my mother who was the most powerful woman in the entire planet. Since we were both young girls, my sister and I have had the opportunity to observe this phenomenon. People have a lot of affection for Mommy. I am overjoyed that a large number of people were able to watch her charming and lively personality as well as her big, beautiful smile.

I would appreciate it if you will keep my family and I in your prayers. It was on January 4, 1956 in the town of Metter, Georgia that Willie James Byrd was born. His parents, Andy and Eubie Byrd, were devoted to him as a son.

In the state of Georgia, Willie James, commonly known as Sugar Boy, received his education in the public schools of Candler County. On the 28th of January in 1994, he tied the knot with the former Riller Cheley. His employer was the Norfolk Dredging Company, where he worked. Both fishing and grilling were activities that Sugar Boy enjoyed doing.

Also, he cherished the time he got to spend with his family and friends. A sibling named Leroy Butler and his parents, Andy and Eubie Byrd, passed away before him. He was the only child of the couple.

On Wednesday, February 17, 2021, Willie James Byrd, who was 65 years old and lived in Metter, passed away. Candler County was the location of his birth on January 4, 1956. His parents, Andy and Eubie Byrd, were devoted to him as a son. During his time in Candler County, Willie James, also known as Sugar Boy, received his education at the public schools.

On the 28th of January in 1994, he tied the knot with the former Riller Cheley. There was a position available for Willie James at Norfolk Dredging Company. When he was not fishing, he enjoyed barbecuing.

Also, he cherished the time he got to spend with his family and friends. His maternal and paternal grandparents, as well as his brother, Leroy Butler, all away before him. He left behind those who will grieve his departure and cherish his memory.

And his wife, Riller Byrd; three sons, Laquan Byrd (Toratia), Deion Byrd, and Alfonzo Knight; three daughters, Kaprisa Byrd, Keyona Byrd, and Laciondra Byrd; a large number of granddaughters, great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, and other relatives and friends; and a large number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. The Sams Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Metter was the location of a service that took place at the cemetery on Sunday, February 28, 2021.
