Roger Thorson Obituary, Death – Roger Lee Thorson, who was born in Canton, South Dakota, and lived in Deep Gap, North Carolina, passed away on December 26, 2022, at the age of 84, leaving behind family and friends who will miss him deeply. It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of his passing. If you would like to express your condolences to the family, you can do so in the guestbook that has been provided. It was his parents, Kenneth M. Thorson and Naomi Garvey Thorson, who passed away before he was born with them.

His wife Gloria Walterman Thorson, who resides in Deep Gap, his daughters Kimberly Mateiko Steven of Boone, Kelli Garcia of California, and Kristi Stearns Mark of California, as well as his grandsons, Justin Pridgen and Kristi Stearns Mark, are among those who are able to carry on his legacy.

Tamara, who resides in Weaverville; Jessica Mackie Tyler, who resides in Johnson City; Kirsten Garcia Sweden, who resides in Stockholm; Kyle Garcia, who resides in California; Madison Stearns, who resides in California; his great-grandchildren, Maverick Mackie, Marley Mackie, Charles Pridgen, and Chase Pridgen; and his siblings, Ronald Thorson of Sioux Falls and Marlys Goodyear Dick of Sioux Falls.

He was stationed at San Diego, California, and Key West, Florida, during his time in the United States Navy, which lasted from 1965 until 1976. By 1967, he had tied the knot with Carol Johnson Strassman. In addition to being an active member of the Hudson and Amery Jaycees, he continued to work for NSP for more than twenty years.

In Amery, Wisconsin, in 1977, he tied the knot with Judy (Waterman) Erickson. His wife Judy and his children, Chris (Nick) Armstrong of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Tina Scott Milward of Bangor, Wisconsin, Tony Katie Erickson of Balsam Lake, Wisconsin, Curt Anessa Thorson of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and Brock Armstrong, all of Wisconsin, are among those who survive him.

His sisters Patricia McCluskey and Karen Isaacson, both of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, as well as his thirteen grandkids, all of whom he loved very much, and Rachel Thorson, who lives in Isanti, Minnesota. His sisters Betty Boyd and Reva Sippel, as well as his brothers Berval Thorson and Roger Thorson, passed away before Dick.

His parents, Clarence Thorson and Fern Knesley, as well as his stepfather, Ed Knesley, were among those who passed away before him. On Friday, November 12, 2010, at one o’clock in the afternoon, funeral services will be performed at the Williamson & White Funeral Home, which is located at 222 Harriman Avenue North in Amery.

Both Margaret Peterson and Sally Suckut will be responsible for providing the music. The funeral home will be open for visitation beginning one hour before the start of the ceremonies. The burial will take place at the Amery Cemetery, with military honors being accorded.
