Charles Thomas Obituary, Death – At this very moment, may God be with Melanie. At this very moment, I am in utter disbelief since my brother Charles Thomas passed away this morning. He was such a wonderful person. I ask that you pray for all of his family members during this difficult time.

On Monday, October 30, 2023, at six o’clock in the evening, a Memorial Service will be performed in his honor from the Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. The Reverend Albert Lyles will preside over the ceremony.

The Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with the responsibility of looking after and arranging the final arrangements. Charles was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and he attended Central High School and Auburn University, where he received his degrees.

During his whole working life, he was employed by the United States Department of Agriculture, where he served for more than 25 years. After being married to his lovely bride, Carolyn, he relocated to Greensboro. His parents, Freda M. Thomas and Charles W. Thomas, passed away before him.

He didn’t get to see them again. The woman who was formerly known as Virginia Richards is his wife of 29 years. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of Franklin Thomas, who passed away, and Catherine Adamitis Thomas, who also passed away.

In the years leading up to his retirement, he worked logging as a self-employed individual. He was also a skilled woodworker who had been working for his whole life, as well as a passionate hunter who cherished and valued his dogs. He was a powerful individual who possessed a wonderful sense of humor, and many of the people he knew thought of him as a very good friend.

He was a faithful husband, father, and grandfather who would be sorely missed by all of his family and friends. Additionally, she is survived by two daughters, Tammy Thomas of Wilkes-Barre and Tina Lysak of Ransom; a stepson, Richard Lewert of Jessup; two stepdaughters, Karen Lewert of Archbald and Kathy Agostini of Old Forge; a brother, Tommy Thomas of New Jersey; a sister, Patricia Jones of Florida; two grandchildren, Mike and Nicole Thomas; and a number of nieces and nephews. One of his great-grandchildren, Gabriel Thomas, passed away on February 19, 2010, which was also the day he passed away.

The Reverend Jeffrey Tudgay will preside over a blessing service that will take place on Thursday at five o’clock in the evening at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home & Cremation Service, which is located at 418 S. State Street in Clarks Summit.
