Juanice Orr Obituary, Death, A Heartfelt Farewell To Juanice Orr
Juanice Orr Obituary, Death – My grandma, Judy Orr, passed away quietly last night. Please pray for me and my family that we may find peace and comfort in this very difficult time. After a brief battle with illness, Janice Orr, who had lived in Bradley County for her entire life, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2020. She was blessed with eternal life. Big Spring Baptist Church, the choir, and Jerry Dunlap’s Sunday school class were all places where she was a devoted member of the congregation.
A number of people, including her husband Daniel Orr, her brothers Arthur (Jr) Miller and Anderson Jute Miller, and her sisters Julia Wilson and Betty Ford, passed away before she did.
Her sons Whitney and Trevis Orr, as well as her six grandkids, her sisters Jeri Brinkman and Virginia Myers, and her second husband Mel Reinhart, are among those who are able to carry on her legacy. There will be a private service held at the graveside. Gordon and Belma (Dixon) Counceller, who have now passed away, were her parents.
She was born on December 3, 1940 in New Castle. Janice received her high school diploma from Mount Vernon in the year 1959.
She tied the knot with the man who would become the love of her life, Jackie Gene Orr, on April 13, 1957, and they remained married for 63 years until his dying in the year 2020. Her passion for antiques led her to become a dealer and collector, and she once owned a few of shops in the Indianapolis area.
As a supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Boystown, and a number of other organizations, she was certified in sign language.
In addition to her children, Joel, Lee, Lisa, Aimee Orr, and Ethan Brown, Janice is survived by her grandchildren, Israel Anderson, Michael Orr, and Dillon Frye; her great-grandson, Quenton Anderson; her brother, Gordon (Shirley) Counceller; her sister, Patricia Craig; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, who are listed above; her husband, Jackie; and her brother, Mike Counceller. Visitation for Janice will take place on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and a funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. at Seals Funeral Home, which is located at 122 W. Staat St. in Fortville. Lance Stevens will preside over the ceremony. The burial will take place in the Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville shortly after the service.
