Sharon Sewell Obituary, Death – Sharon Sewell, a beloved and wonderful friend of mine who went away last week, is remembered here after her passing. A woman who was so wonderful and loving will be missed by a great number of people. Sharon Crooks was born on November 12, 1939, in Seattle, Washington. Her biological parents were Merle Crooks, and her adoptive parents were Edward Russel and Gladys Marie Crooks.

Sharon was adopted at infancy. During World War II, Sharon’s father served as a pilot for the Army Air Corps, and the family traveled extensively over the continent of North America. After completing her high school education at Bellevue High School, Sharon continued her study at Colorado Women’s School to earn her diploma.

Sharon found employment at Boeing, Overlake Hospital, and the City of Bellevue after moving back to Seattle, where she also tied the knot with Donald M. Stewart.

While she was residing in Bellevue and Mercer Island, Washington, she gave birth to two children, namely Matt and Dana. During the year 1976, Sharon had the opportunity to meet Jim Sewell, who was from Penticton, British Columbia.

After getting married in 1979, they relocated to Vancouver, British Columbia, and later to Vernon, British Columbia. In 1985, Sharon and Jim relocated back to the United States, where she worked as the manager of the Grandview Chamber of Commerce and Jim worked as the Grandview City Administrator until his retirement in 2006.

Sharon was highly successful in her roles as a best friend, wife, mother, and grandma when she retired. Sharon was a nurse who helped Jim through a difficult illness in 2022-2023.

However, she was also taken from this world when she passed away unexpectedly on June 4th, 2023 at Sunnyside Community Hospital in Sunnyside, Washington. Her passing came only five days before she and Jim would have celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary.

Her devoted husband Jim, her son Donald Mathieu Stewart, and her daughter Dana Fisk, as well as her grandchildren Dannielle, Luke, and Dylan Stewart, Ian, Nolan, Leah, and Tessa Fisk, as well as James Sewell Lannard and Brenda Sewell Lannard, Evan and Avery Lannard, are all extremely saddened by Sharon’s passing.

At the Astria Sunnyside Intensive treatment Unit, Sharon received outstanding treatment, and we are thankful for that. To honor Sharon’s wishes, there will be no burial service held in her honor. There is a memorial book for Sharon that can be signed online at www.funeralhomesmith.com for anyone who wishes to do so. The arrangements have been taken care of by Smith Funeral Home.
