Marty Holtman Obituary, Death – I am sorry to inform you today… It was yesterday that Marty Holtman passed away… One of the most generous individuals you could ever hope to meet. Friend, may you rest in peace. Wednesday, June 2, 2020, unexpectedly away from home. Son of Donald and Glorianna Holtman, who both passed away; brother of Donna (Dennis) Penrose, Sandra (John) Steele, Karen (Tony) Testa, and the late Phyllis Gentile, who is survived by Michael; uncle of Joe, Sissy, Amanda, Hannah, Robin, Kelly, Anthony, Nick, Stephanie, and Samantha; also survived by a large number of great-nieces and great-nephews.
Marty was a dedicated fan of gambling, horse racing, and sports. Through his position at the post office, he was able to cultivate a large number of friendships and had a large number of friends from the North Side.
I was 85 years old when I received my ID. Her parents, Joseph F. Matush and Madeline (Weber) Matush, welcomed her into the world on May 1st, 1932 in the city of Nampa, Idaho. During this time period, her father was the owner of the twenty acres that were situated at the northwest corner of Cherry Lane and Star Road.
The National Honor Society was something that Pauline was a part of while she was attending schools in Nampa. After that, she went on to finish a number of night sessions presented by the American Institute of Banking and attended a number of different secretarial seminars.
During her working years, she spent the majority of her time working as an Executive Secretary and Administrative Assistant in the cities of Richmond, Virginia and Evanston, Illinois.
After that, she relocated to Idaho and began working in the Trust Department of First Interstate Bank, which would subsequently be acquired by Wells Fargo Bank. March 11, 1954 was the day when she tied the knot with Marty Holtman.
During the time that they were married, Marty was serving in the United States Air Force, and they spent the final years of his military career at Tyndal Air Force Base in Panama City, Florida. Following the couple’s relocation to Chicago, Marty pursued his Bachelor of Arts degree in Television and Radio Broadcasting at the University of Colorado.
Before returning to her home state of Idaho when Marty began his job at KBOI TV-Radio, Pauline remained by his side throughout the entire journey. She accompanied him to Richmond, Virginia, where he began his career in broadcasting, and remained there for four years.
In the year 1962, Pauline and Marty were among the pioneering families who established themselves in Warm Springs Mesa. Marty eventually became the weatherman and news reporter for Channel 2 KBOI-TV, becoming a well-known and well-loved face and voice in the Treasure Valley.
