The death of Jessica Mullins: On March 16, 2024, Jessica Mullins went peacefully away at home in Clemson. Her loss has left a void in the hearts of many, which is evidence of the enormous impact she had on those who were fortunate enough to have known her. Jessica had a captivating personality that made it easy for her to throw her loving hug around both friends and total strangers. She had a real affinity for animals, particularly her beloved feline cats, in addition to her genuine caring for humans.

As a dedicated volunteer with Concerned Citizens for Animals (CCA), Jessica gave her all to the program that offers community cats in Pickens County the chance to be neutered, caught, and then given back. Over the course of her professional life, she has spent countless hours rescuing stray kittens, giving them the care they need to be adopted into loving homes, and maintaining many community cat colonies since she has a strong passion for these creatures. The fact that Jessica created a remote-controlled trap—which showcased her inventiveness and proved her commitment to the cause—is testament to her unrelenting commitment to assisting as many cats as she could.

Apart from her unwavering advocacy for animals, Jessica had a deep bond with Bill Welsh, her partner and soulmate of over fifteen years. Because they were both very interested in music, they went on a lot of trips together to attend concerts and music festivals, which included traveling to various places.

In her professional life, Jessica was employed full-time by Clemson institution in the parking service department, where she provided the institution with gracious and committed service. Her infectious charisma and compassionate demeanor created a lasting impact on everyone she encountered, effectively transforming difficult situations into opportunities for friendship and connection.

Jessica has left behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering kindness that will inspire others whose lives she touched. Her friends, colleagues, and the many animals whose lives she touched, together with her companion Bill, will always cherish her memory. Her legacy will go on indefinitely.

Even though Jessica’s passing saddens us, let’s use this chance to honor the brightness she gave to the world and the profound influence she had on those who were close to her. I hope and pray that everyone who knew and loved her will always carry a piece of her spirit with them.

There will be a memorial service honoring Jessica’s life on [day, time, place]. Friends and family will have the opportunity to get together in remembrance and support of one another.
