At the age of 28, he passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024, leaving behind his cherished family, friends, and coworkers who will always mourn him. “It’s not every day you meet someone from your home town that *gets you* and lives so incredibly authentic that everyone around them feels more authentic just being in their presence,” reads a Facebook post that was used to confirm his death. It is unknown what exactly caused Aidan Kearney to pass away.

Aidan, the beloved son of Robert S. and Suzanne D. (Luitweiler) Kearney, was born in Rochester, New York, on March 31, 1995. His parents only had him as a youngster. 2013 saw him graduate from Kokomo High School with honours. He participated in a foreign exchange programme while spending his junior year in South Korea, which turned out to be one of the most significant experiences of his life. In 2018, he received his degree from Ball State University, where he pursued his passion in computer science.

Aidan has been working in information technology at MISO Energy in Carmel for the last four years. Meanwhile, from 2014 to 2022, he served with distinction as a Sergeant in the United States Army Reserve. And Kokomo was more than just a location where Aidan lived; it was a community where he thrived. He was able to make a lot of friends and was well-known for his upbeat demeanour and friendly demeanour.

Suzanne Kearney, his mother; Robert and Cheryl Kearney, his father and stepmother; Gillian Kearney (Nick Michalowski), his sister; Morgan Wright, his girlfriend; David and Judy Luitweiler, Bonnie Ruvio, aunts and uncles, Kevin Luitweiler, Susie (Greg) Eason, Michael (Sarah) Ruvio, Russell (Stacy) Ruvio, and numerous cousins survive Aidan. Salvatore Ruvio and Jean Billings, his grandparents, passed away before him.
The U.S. Army and the Kokomo V.F.W. will give military honours at the 2 p.m. memorial service honouring Aidan’s life on Sunday, March 24 at Shirley & Stout memorial Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo. Deacon Marty Stout will preside over the ceremony. After the Sunday service, friends are welcome to stay with family until 5 p.m. Donations to the Kokomo Humane Society or the American Cancer Society may be given in Aidan’s honour.
