Mass shooting reported at Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk
Update: After the shooting, an explosion and fire broke out at Crocus City Hall. Witnesses reported that the assailants set fire to the chairs. Communication lines are down, hindering people from reaching their loved ones. Initial reports suggest casualties may exceed 50, with at least 10 confirmed fatalities.
According to Russia’s state RIA Novosti news agency, a group of armed individuals opened fire at a concert hall in Moscow on Friday, resulting in injuries to several people.
RIA Novosti stated that at least three individuals wearing combat fatigues discharged firearms.
The state-run Tass news agency also confirmed the incident, which occurred at the Crocus City Hall, a large concert venue situated on the western outskirts of the Russian capital.
Multiple Russian media sources covered the incident, noting that the concert hall was engulfed in flames.
Footage shared on messaging apps in Russia depicted large columns of black smoke billowing from the structure.
