Rian’s life ended following a collision at around 10 p.m. on the Athlone Road in Newtown, near Ballymurray. He was the driver of a vehicle that collided with a truck, leading to injuries that proved fatal after he was rushed to the Portiuncula University Hospital in Ballinasloe. This tragic event marks an increase in road fatalities this year, with 55 lives already lost, highlighting a concerning rise compared to the previous year.
A Life Remembered
Rian Sheridan hailed from Renvyle, County Galway, but had made significant connections in Roscommon where he spent much of his time. In his 20s, Rian was a person of many passions, including music, football, and dairy farming, reflecting a life full of interests and commitments. He leaves behind his grieving parents, Finian and Maria, and his three sisters, Ciara, Doireann, and Aebhín, as the cherished only son in a family that adored him.
