Judge Roger Hugh Lawson Obituary, Death – Judge Roger Hugh Lawson, a native of Hawkinsville, Georgia, Has Passed Away. On September 23, 1941, Judge Roger Hugh Lawson, Jr.’s parents, Barbara Daniel Lawson and Roger Hugh Lawson, welcomed him into the world in Hawkinsville, Georgia.
On March 29, 2024, he was brought to his fathers for a proper gathering. He was a lifelong resident of Hawkinsville, with the exception of his time spent in college and law school. His mother, his grandmothers, his great aunt, his father’s secretary, and his five sisters were the only females who lived in the house for him when he was growing up.
Mrs. Rena McCune, who resides in Newnan, Mrs. Nancy Peterson, who resides in Vidalia, Mrs. Harriet Towe, who resides in Eatonton, Mrs. Starr Lee, who resides in Rock Hill, South Carolina, and Mrs. Matilda Revell, who also resides in Rock Hill, are the Lawson sisters. In addition to attending Emory University and the law office of his father, Hugh Lawson received his education from the public schools of Pulaski County. Additionally, he was a member of the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity and the Chi Phi fraternity while he was attending Emory.
In addition to his work as a practicing attorney, Hugh was a member of the Georgia Board of Industry and Trade and the Georgia World Congress Center Authority. He also served as Chairman of the Pulaski County Board of Education during his time in the legal profession. The Pulaski Banking Company was under his leadership for a period of twenty-five years, during which time he also held the position of president of the institution.
After completing his legal education at Emory University in December 1964, he went back to Hawkinsville and began working as a lawyer alongside his father, who was both his closest friend and his chief role model. You could compare it to describing the Mormon Tabernacle Choir as a vocal group if you were to say that they had a good time together. Everything that came through the door was handled by them, with the exception of things like tax and bankruptcy matters.
Judge Lawson had very few regrets throughout his entire life. Instead of dwelling on the agony of hindsight, he admitted that he made a lot of mistakes, took responsibility for them, and moved on with his life after gaining knowledge from them. The assurance with which he handled his business was comparable to that of a Christian who was holding four aces. The majority of the time, he had the impression that he had been granted the wishes of his heart and that he had been more fortunate than the majority of people.
After reflecting on the unfairness of life, he came to the realization that he had been so extraordinarily fortunate. His hobbies included reading and reading books, fishing, shooting, camping, cutting firewood, dogs, judging, ardent spirits, and entertaining his family. At the Hawkinsville First United Methodist Church, services will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 2:00 p.m., with Reverend Jack Varnell, Dr. Rick Lanford, Judge Marc Treadwell, and Mr. Harley F. Lawson serving as the officiants. As soon as the service is over, the family will meet and greet their friends.
