Marcus Dahn, aged 28, Arrested and Charged with Murder of 17-Year-Old Fate Brannon, a Jack in the Box Employee in Charlotte
A 17-year-old Jack in the Box employee lost his life in northwest Charlotte on Friday afternoon, according to authorities.
The tragic incident unfolded around 2:30 p.m. within a Jack in the Box establishment along North Hoskins Road and Brookshire Boulevard.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police deployed multiple officers to the scene, with crime scene tape cordoning off the parking lot.
CMPD verified that the victim, identified as 17-year-old Fate Brannon, was an employee. His next of kin has been informed of his passing.
Investigators revealed that the suspects targeted him after he finished his shift on Friday afternoon.
“A 17-year-old’s life was taken away from him,” stated Maj. Ryan Butler. “Not a 17-year-old engaged in criminal activities on the streets, but a 17-year-old simply trying to work and return home for the Easter weekend.”
The suspects, described as two masked men, were involved in the incident. On Saturday, police apprehended 28-year-old Marcus Dahn as a suspect in the homicide.
Initially, Dahn was taken into custody on an unrelated warrant, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. Following questioning by detectives, Dahn was incarcerated as a suspect in Brannon’s murder.
The Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office charged Dahn with first-degree murder, felony conspiracy, robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a stolen firearm.
The victim’s family has been informed of the arrest.
