Edna Earle Coddington Schultz Obituary, Resident of Cocoa Beach, Florida, Has Passed Away Peacefully at Age 90
Edna Earle Coddington Schultz Obituary, Death – On March 29, 2024, Edna Earle Coddington Schultz peacefully went away at the age of 90. Before relocating to Cocoa Beach, Florida, Edna Earle resided in Richmond, Virginia. She remained there for more than 30 years.
After relocating to Hatteras in 2021, her daughter Donna took care of her until she needed more advanced care, at which point she relocated to the Landings of Albemarle in Hertford, North Carolina.
She felt most at ease at Cocoa Beach. She always felt the happiest when she was near the water. Hatteras Island was her second favorite spot, right after Cocoa Beach. On the beach, she would spend hours sunbathing and fishing.
She had additional opportunities to fish when she was 88 years old. Even managed to reel in a few fish while casting herself. Until her death, she enthusiastically recounted her final fishing excursions to the beach.
Her mother Edna Frances Coddington and her father Earl Edwin Coddington passed away before she was born. Daniel Hackett, her grandson, passed away before her. Her parents and her grandson both passed away before her.
Her daughters, Donna Barnett (Charlie) and Theresa Hackett (Michael), as well as her grandchildren, Amanda Spain Paschke, Stephanie Spain, Mary Katherine Spain, Michaelanne Hackett, Hannah Barnett, Brett Barnett, and Colin Barnett, as well as nine great-grandchildren, are among those who are able to carry on her legacy. There will be a memorial service for Edna’s family that will be held at a later time to celebrate her life.
Donations can be made to the Hatteras Island Cancer Foundation in lieu of flowers. The foundation’s website is www.hicf.org, and the mailing address is PO Box 442, Hatteras, North Carolina 27943. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Landings of Albemarle for providing me with exceptional care, and in particular to Brooke Barham, with whom Edna shared a special affection and friendship.
