Willie Ryan Garrett Obituary, Lifetime Member of New Castle, Has Sadly Passed Away at age 81

Willie Ryan Garrett Obituary, Death – Willie Ryan Garrett, an 81-year-old resident of New Castle, died early Saturday morning with his family by his side. Albany, Kentucky was the site of his birth on August 24, 1942. Ryan Garrett and Mary Vera (Sell), his parents, were both deceased when he was born.

He attended Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky after graduating from Clinton County High School in Albany, Kentucky in 1962. He started working at Modernfold Industries after moving to Indiana in 1963. It was after that he started working for Chrysler Corporation, where he stayed for over 33 years until retiring in 2000. In addition, he spent a number of years behind the wheel of a wrecker for both Popes Towing and A-1 Wrecker Service. In his spare time, Willie liked to go boating and jet skiing, collect vintage tractors, and amass items connected to Coca-Cola. He was a devout follower of the Big Community’s Clinton Chapel in Albany, Kentucky. He was an active-duty soldier for the US Army.

Mr. Willie Ryan Garrett is survived by his loving wife of more than 38 years, Paulette Garrett of New Castle, with whom he shared vows on June 14, 1986. She leaves behind a legacy of love and treasured memories.

In addition, Gina (Mike) Lowe of New Castle and Amy Garrett of New Castle, his daughters he shared with his previous wife, survive him. Furthermore, he leaves behind his stepchildren, Candi Chambers (Tracy Smalley) of New Castle, Bradley (Robin) Phelps of Indianapolis, and Lisa Neal (Jack Grizzell) of New Castle.

An even larger group of grandchildren cherish his memory: Josh Van Bibber’s Tyler Neal, Summer (Matt) Whelchel, Austin (Carrie) Savage, Heather Savage, Trent Smalley, and Lauren Lowe’s Lauren Lowe, Mackenzie Garrett, Nick Ryan Crandall.

Along with Gracelynn Butler, Weston Whelchel, Owen Phelps, Rory Phelps, Finley Phelps, Waylon Savage, and Raelynn Savage, he also leaves behind a number of great-grandchildren. Mr. Willie Ryan Garrett leaves behind his immediate family as well as several nieces and nephews, along with his sister Sue (Willie) Rose of Burkesville, KY, and sister-in-law Debra Garrett.

His parents, a daughter named Mary Crandall and a son named Andrew Garrett, passed away before him. In addition, two nephews, Kenny and Terry Garrett, a niece, Tracey Clark, and two brothers, Bobby Lou and Keith Garrett, predated him. In addition, Doris Faye Garrett, a sister, died in childbirth.

On Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., there will be a memorial service for Mr. [Name] at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Military rites will be performed at Mt. Summit Cemetery in honor of his service, and he will be buried there after the service.
