Maynard Dennis Wilson Obituary, Longtime Resident of Henderson, Former Basketball Player, Has Unexpectedly Passed Away
Maynard Dennis Wilson Obituary, Death – On March 30, 2024, Maynard Dennis Wilson, who resided in Henderson and was 65 years old, passed away.
On March 23, 1959, he was born to Maynard Solomon Wilson, who passed away, and Helen Hedgepeth Wilson, who also passed away. Sheldon Wilson, Dennis’s brother, passed away before him. His parents were also among those who came before him in death.
As a former basketball player, Dennis had a special place in his heart for North Carolina State University. In his spare time, he went fishing after retiring from his job as a volunteer firefighter.
Dennis never met a stranger in all his years of delivering crackers and snack cakes to local stores; in fact, most people knew him from his job. People would say things like, “Come spin with Dr. Den Den” when describing him as a DJ at events. Music was his life’s work.
Sharon Parker, his love and significant other, his step-daughter Melissa Moody, his step-grandson Ethan Fuller, his brothers Thomas Wilson (Kendra Faulkner) and Ricky Wilson (Diana), as well as his nephews and nieces, Kyle Wilson (Sarah), Lindsey Wilson, and Trey Wilson (Justice), are among those who are able to carry on Dennis’s legacy.
On the Thursday, April 4, 2024, at eleven o’clock in the morning, a memorial service will be held at the graveside at the Corinth Baptist Church.
