James Ledford Death Cause – When Jamie was born on May 22, 1978, his parents, Willard Lee and Carrie Ledford, had already died away. Those who were closest to him, including his grandparents Truman and Maggie Ledford and Truman and Mary Crochan, his father-in-law Terry Rice, and his brothers-in-law Jerry Singleton and Kelby Rice, all passed away, and they were really caring. He passed away at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, on March 30, 2024, joining them in heaven.
The work Jamie did with the kids on his bus route was his crowning glory, even if he had a profound effect on many others. For ten years, he was the go-to guy for Roane County Schools Bus Transportation when it came to playing music, giving out fist pumps, and making sure every kid felt loved and at ease. His previous job experience included twenty-five years at Mike’s Masonry, where he worked side by side with Mike Heinze. He made many friends throughout that time, but none were more reliable than his best friend Tree.
Dirt track racing was Jamie’s favorite sport, and he was always willing to lend a hand to his friends Gary Lively and Ted Lowe as they prepared for races. Jamie also liked working with his buddy Red Lawson at the Blair Fire Department, going fishing, and watching the Georgia Bulldogs football game.
Many people will miss Jamie, including his 22-year-wife Shannon Ledford, his brother Truman and his wife Mindy of Nashville, his sister Penny and her husband Jason of Wartburg, his mother-in-law Donna of Coalfield, his sisters-in-law Ruthie and Andy Fadnek of Coalfield, and Beth Rice of Coalfield.
Jamie took great pride in his family, especially his nieces and nephews, who were all named Austin, Haven, Hannah, Nick, Holly, Corey, Courtney, Courtney (Doug), Verner, Tymber, Logan, Daren, Kaitlyn, Fadnek, and his “little man” Corben Rice. His “little man” Corben Rice was also very dear to him. Also included are Cheyenne Verner, his great-nieces and nephews, and Cage and Caselyn Singleton. Instead of giving flowers, you can donate to the Blair Fire Department or the Schubert Funeral Home.
Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation at the Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg on Friday, April 5, 2024, between 4:00 and 5:30 p.m. Following that, at 5:30 p.m., there will be a funeral. Afterwards, the funeral will be held at Lancing’s Montgomery Cemetery.
