According to her mother, Destini Decoff, who was injured when she was struck by a car in a purported road rage incident in Massachusetts, passed away from her wounds.
Decoff was hit by a car in Hopkinton, Massachusetts last week, and passed away on April 6.
A press release issued by Hopkinton Chief of Police Joseph Bennett and Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan states that the 26-year-old lady was in a car with many people when she and Ryan Sweatt got into a fight.
According to the press release, Sweatt, 36, of Milford, was interacting with people in the other vehicle while operating a Honda Civic on Route 85 in Hopkinton.
“Some of the people in the other car, including the victim, got out at some point. After then, Sweatt abruptly made a sharp bend and hit the victim in the street, according to the press statement.
The hit “threw Decoff several feet into the air.” After that, she was taken to a nearby hospital due to potentially fatal injuries.
Tracy, her mother, stated that it was doubtful her daughter would ever be able to breathe on her own again due to difficulties that occurred during surgery.
“My greatest dread as a mother materialized today. My dearest friend and firstborn child are no longer with me, Tracy posted on Facebook, according to Boston.com.
She allegedly said, “Go spread those beautiful wings & fly without pain & suffering,” adding that justice would be done.
