Mohamud Abdi Duale Obituary – A man has been identified by Toronto police as the victim of a fatal shooting in the northwest area of the city on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased individual, Mohamud Abdi Duale, 32, was shot near Lawrence Avenue West and Ralph Street, close to Weston Road. Responding to reports of gunshots, officers arrived at the scene around 4:50 p.m.
According to a news release by the police on Monday, multiple gunshots were heard. Despite efforts to save his life, Duale succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the location.
The suspects responsible for the shooting fled the area, and no information regarding their identities has been disclosed.
Duale’s death marks the 21st homicide in the city this year. During a press briefing at the scene, Det.-Sgt. Mike Taylor stated that it was uncertain whether the shooting was a targeted incident.
Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the shooting or may have been driving in the vicinity with dashboard camera footage to come forward.
