Carol Webber Obituary, Death: 74-year-old woman shot and killed at west Houston senior living center.
Carol Webber Obituary, Death – An inquiry is currently being conducted into the tragic shooting of a woman at a senior living center in a neighborhood in west Houston over the weekend. The Houston Police Department promptly responded to a call on Saturday after the discovery of the deceased woman, identified as Carol Webber, 74, inside an apartment complex at Treemont Senior Living, located at 2501 Westerland Drive, at approximately 2:30 p.m., as stated in a news release issued by the city.
Webber was found with a gunshot wound to her head, and the Houston Fire Department confirmed that she passed away at the scene. The Harris County medical examiner has classified the death as a homicide. As of Monday, the police have not identified any motives or suspects related to the incident.
On Monday night, media partners ABC13 reported that neither the residents of the senior living center nor their family members had been notified about the shooting.
A staff member from the senior living center informed the Houston Chronicle on Tuesday morning that the management does not work in the office during weekends and was only informed about the shooting at the same time as the residents. They mentioned that the team was waiting to disclose further information due to the ongoing investigation.
In the meantime, the complex has locked Webber’s apartment door until investigators provide an update on when they plan to return to the property.
The police have stated that the investigation is still ongoing. Individuals with any information regarding the incident are urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or provide anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
