Jacob Fuerte Death – A tragic incident occurred on the Hollywood (101) Freeway in Studio City, resulting in the death of a Los Angeles Fire Department recruit. The collision involved two vehicles and took place around 5:10 a.m. on Monday. The California Highway Patrol and the LAFD confirmed that the crash happened on the northbound Hollywood Freeway near Vineland Avenue and Campo de Cahuenga.

The LAFD recruit involved in the initial crash was identified as 22-year-old Jacob Fuerte, who sadly lost his life at the scene. According to LAFD Capt. Erik Scott, Fuerte was on his way to training when the accident occurred. He exited his Jeep, likely to assess the situation and offer assistance, when he was struck by another vehicle.

The CHP provided further details on the incident, stating that Fuerte was driving a 2000 Jeep that collided with a 2021 Ford driven by Derek Tapia, who fortunately did not sustain any injuries. After the initial crash, Fuerte left his vehicle while it was still in traffic lanes. It was during this time that he was hit by an unknown vehicle in a subsequent multiple-vehicle crash.

Unfortunately, there is no description available of the unknown vehicle involved in the collision, as neither the parties involved nor any witnesses provided such information to the CHP. However, two individuals in a 2016 Toyota, which was apparently part of the second collision, received treatment for minor injuries at a hospital.

Initially, it was believed that Fuerte had come across the crash on the freeway and stopped to provide aid to those involved. As a result of the investigation into Fuerte’s tragic death, a significant portion of the northbound freeway was closed.

In a solemn tribute, Fuerte’s body was eventually covered with an American flag.
