Ashley Bird Death – The Spring Valley woman who was shot and killed this week at her home, allegedly by her estranged husband, has been identified by authorities.
Ashley Bird, aged 35, was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head when deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office arrived at her residence on La Presa Avenue near Jamacha Boulevard at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
According to Lt. Michael Krugh, Bird succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Later in the day, law enforcement officials from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office located the victim’s spouse, Christopher Bird, aged 39, deceased in his vehicle at Calafia Beach Park in San Clemente.
The Orange County Coroner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of his death, as stated by the Sheriff’s Department.
The investigation is currently ongoing, and the Sheriff’s Department has yet to establish the motive and circumstances surrounding the crime. In response to this tragic event, Ashley Bird’s family has initiated a fundraiser to cover the expenses of her funeral and provide support for her surviving son.
In a statement shared on the fundraising platform, Ashley’s family expressed their deep sorrow and described her as a compassionate, warm-hearted, and generous individual who had a profound impact on everyone she encountered.
