Jolanda Fun, 34, is expected to pass away the following week. She was able to arrange the funeral invites ahead of time as a result.

The card says, “Born from love, let go in love.” “After a life fought for, she chose the tranquility she so desperately desired.”

In an interview with The Sunday Times last week, Fun, a resident of North Brabant, the Netherlands, gave her reasons for wanting to pass away.

Despite her physical well-being, she is always “depressed, hopeless, and gloomy.” She received a long list of mental health diagnoses when she was 22 years old, and she has subsequently undergone numerous therapies.

She has never been able to maintain employment as a result. She concluded that her only remaining alternative was to end her life when a counsellor informed her two years prior that she may be put to death. She says, “I want to step out of life.”

Fun has undoubtedly had a challenging life. She has mild learning disabilities, recurring depression, eating disorders, and autism. However, advocating suicide as a solution to these issues is equivalent to giving up on her.

Remarkably, Fun’s situation is not so unusual in the Netherlands. It was revealed earlier this month that a second young, physically fit Dutch woman is requesting euthanasia due to mental health issues. Zoraya ter Beek, 28, is expected to pass away in May due to her autism and melancholy.
