Kevin Willington Death – A man aged 53 has passed away following a shooting at a residence in the Manor Park neighborhood of Ottawa.
Authorities responded to the scene near Birch Avenue and Hemlock Road around 9:22 p.m. on Friday, as stated by Ottawa police on Saturday morning. The victim was discovered with severe injuries and unfortunately succumbed to them shortly after.
No individuals have been apprehended in connection with the incident. According to CBC News, the shooting seems to have been deliberate, with police confirming that there is no immediate threat to public safety. The victim was later identified as Kevin Willington of Ottawa by the police on Saturday afternoon.
Rawlson King, the Rideau-Rockcliffe Counsellor, expressed his primary concern for the well-being of the local residents, the victims, their families, and the nearby community affected by the tragic event.
Residents interviewed by CBC mentioned feeling disturbed by the incident. Despite the tragedy, individuals were still seen going about their daily activities in the neighborhood on Saturday.
The police’s homicide unit is currently investigating the case, with law enforcement maintaining a presence at the property where the shooting occurred.
