Reyes Dorame Obituary, Pedestrian man killed in crash near St. Mary’s Road
Reyes Dorame Obituary – On the night of April 19, a fatal crash occurred near the intersection of St. Marys Road and North Shawnee Avenue, resulting in the death of a pedestrian. The Tucson Police Department promptly responded to reports of the collision, which was described as a serious injury incident.
The victim, identified as Reyes Dorame, a 59-year-old individual, tragically lost their life at the scene. The authorities notified the family of this devastating news. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that Dorame was attempting to cross St. Mary’s Rd. at Shawnee in an unknown direction when the collision took place.
The vehicle involved in the incident was a 2018 Chevrolet Camaro, which was traveling eastbound in the curb lane. The driver of the Camaro, a 23-year-old male, was identified by the Tucson Police Department and fully cooperated with the ongoing investigation.
In response to the incident, an officer from the DUI Unit was dispatched to the scene. After assessing the situation, it was determined that the driver of the Camaro was not impaired at the time of the collision. However, the presence of illegal narcotics in the possession of the pedestrian was discovered.
Any potential impairment will be confirmed through medical records. The authorities have determined that the known contributing factor to the collision was the driver’s failure to yield to a pedestrian in an unmarked crosswalk. As of now, the investigation is still ongoing, and no charges or citations have been issued.
