Jayden Smith Obituary – The teenager who lost his life in a late-night collision in Northwest Indiana has been identified by the Lake County coroner.
The incident occurred at 11:33 p.m. on Friday at the intersection of East Dunes Highway and I-65 northbound in Gary, Ind., as reported by the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
While information regarding the cause of the crash remains scarce, it has been confirmed by authorities that Jayden Smith, a 14-year-old, was the victim of the tragic accident.
The coroner’s office informed Smith’s family of his passing at their residence on Saturday morning. Following a forensic autopsy, it was determined that Smith succumbed to severe blunt force injuries sustained during the collision. The incident has been classified as an accident, and the investigation is currently ongoing.
