Cory Christopher Revelle Obituary – The Elizabeth City Police Department (ECPD) has reported that a man was shot and killed by a police officer after he refused to drop his gun following the shooting of another man.
The incident occurred around 2 a.m. on North Poindexter Street, when an officer on foot patrol responded to the sound of gunfire.
Byran Christopher White, 33, allegedly shot Cory Christopher Revelle, 39, before the officer arrived. Despite being ordered to drop his weapon, White did not comply and was subsequently shot by the officer.
Additional officers arrived at the scene and provided life-saving measures until EMS crews arrived. Both White and Revelle were transported to Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, where they later succumbed to their injuries.
The ECPD is currently investigating Revelle’s fatal shooting, while the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations is handling the case of White’s shooting death.
