Universal Studios Hollywood Tram Car Accident: LAPD Investigates Mass Casualty Accident Involving a Universal Studios Hollywood Tram on April 20
Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles Fire Department are responding to a mass casualty accident involving a tram at Universal Studios Hollywood on Saturday.
LAPD say a total of ten (10) people have been injured following the incident at Theme park in Universal City, California. The accident happened at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024. Authorities were dispatched to the scene following a 911 report, according to the LAPD.
The incident preceding the collision are still uncertain, as law enforcement on scene say the investigation remains at a preliminary stage. Emergency teams from the Los Angeles County Fire Department promptly responded to the incident at 3900 Lankershim Boulevard in North Hollywood at approximately 9 p.m. on Saturday.
According to firefighters, out of the ten victims injuries, one was classified as critical, while the remaining injuries were categorized as mild.
A cluster of individuals were being attended to by paramedics to an area hospital. A distinct and more sizable group was directed away from the tram and embarked onto a bus.
The crash was reported prior to 9:30 p.m. Locals have been warned to stay away from the side of the park where the incident happened. Anyone with information regarding the crash is urged to contact the LAPD.
