Lorenzo Soto Obituary – Police have identified Lorenzo Soto, a 34-year-old man who tragically lost his life in an overnight shooting that stemmed from a fight at a club near the Depot Entertainment District.
As of mid-Sunday afternoon, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident, according to a statement from the Lubbock Police Department.
Officers were called to the scene around 1:57 a.m. on Sunday after reports of gunfire in the 2200 block of Interstate 27.
Upon arrival, they found Soto with a gunshot wound and rushed him to University Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation revealed that a physical altercation involving multiple individuals took place at a nearby club, leading to a second confrontation outside the club that resulted in the fatal shooting near 22nd Street and Crickets Avenue.
Authorities have stated that this incident seems to be isolated with no immediate danger to the public. At this time, no suspects have been identified, and the investigation is ongoing.
