Chalmar Fason Identified As Victim Killed In Memphis Orange Mound block Party Shooting
Chalmar Fason, 22, has been identified as one of the victims of the shooting that occurred at Orange Mound Park on Saturday night.
Penny Norris, his brother, feels that Chalmar was not the planned target and claims that the disturbances that led to the mass shooting were caused by people from other places.
In relation to the mass shooting that occurred during an Orange Mound block party, the Memphis authorities Department (MPD) has found another victim, according to the authorities.
Additionally, MPD has increased the incentive to $15,000 and is requesting that anyone with information call 901-528-CASH.
According to police reports, on Saturday night at a “unpermitted” block party in Orange Mound, there was a shooting incident that left two people dead and seven injured.
Interim Memphis Police Chief C.J. Davis initially stated that 16 individuals had been shot; however, the police has now updated that number to nine, citing “several victims being reported multiple times” as the reason for the disparity.
On Saturday, April 20, 2024, just before 7:20 p.m., police were called to the 2400 block of Carnes Avenue, where there had been gunfire.
Police records state that about 300 people attended an unofficial block party at Orange Mound Park that was hosted without city permission.
One of the six injured people was listed as critically ill by the Memphis Police Department late on Saturday night, while the other two had already been released from the hospital.
Police verified on Sunday that the conditions of all seven victims remained stable. Chief Davis disclosed that her police had identified at least two suspected shooters even though no arrests had been made.
