Over The Weekend, There Were Multiple Fatalities In A Separate Crash In Waycross, Ware County
The several deadly incidents that occurred throughout the town this weekend have left the residents of the Waycross hamlet in Ware County, Georgia, traumatized and heartbroken.
The people in the town have banded together to organize a candlelight vigil and memorial service for the victims of the horrific events over the weekend.
Two separate auto accidents in the community resulted in the deaths of four people, according to police enforcement. An 8-year-old girl and a child were hit by a car driven by a man fleeing the police on Saturday near the Fairgrounds.
News GA reports that the girl was pronounced dead at the site. After being taken to a child trauma center, the toddler passed away from their wounds.
Two men lost their lives in another crash that happened on Saturday. One of the males, who was only identified as a 17-year-old high school student, was killed after he was struck by a driver who police claim was operating a vehicle while intoxicated while coming from work.
The Waycross community is in shock and heartbreak following the tragedy that struck the town. Additionally, as the grieving families grieve for their loved ones, the community has asked for prayers.
As reported by GA News, preparations are on for a candlelit evening. According to family and acquaintances, the 8-year-old victim loved gymnastics. Her ninth birthday was less than a day after the vehicle tragedy.
Words can’t express how much we shall miss this adorable, kind, and gifted little girl. Our hearts are shattered. Hadleigh cherished her SEE family and gymnastics. Her gym family will have a terrible day tomorrow.
For anyone who would like to come, prayer will be held at the SEE Gymnastics Center on Monday, April 22 at 5:00 p.m. This isn’t the end. We will always cherish Hadleigh, our little Sharky. Hadleigh’s teacher wrote, “Videos of Hadleigh last weekend at State.”
Many companies and organizations have issued formal statements in the wake of the tragic events, expressing their sympathies to the families of the deceased as well as to the community at large. “Our family and staff of Hart Funeral Home are deeply saddened by the losses of those in Waycross last night,” the funeral home stated in its statement.
“We are praying for all of the families and numerous friends that are grieving today along with the rest of our community and the communities that surround us. In the midst of sorrow, we ask for courage and solace in prayer. And for everyone to discover the healing and hope that come only from Jesus.
