Kendra Farler Obituary, Funeral service will be held today for a 15-year-old girl who was tragically shot and killed by her father in Dayton
Kendra Farler Obituary – The funeral service for Kendra Farler, the 15-year-old girl who tragically lost her life in a shooting in Dayton last week, will take place today.
This information was confirmed through her online obituary. Kendra was a beloved member of her family, described as the heart and soul, and someone who exuded joy, curiosity, and creativity. She was not only a student but also a source of knowledge and enthusiasm, always eager to share her discoveries with others. Her laughter was contagious, her energy limitless, and her kindness radiated warmth to all those around her.
Previously, it was reported that Kendra’s father, Kenneth Farler, was arrested shortly after the shooting incident on Bowen Street on April 14. He is now facing charges related to the incident. According to the police, Farler resided in a boarding house in an east Dayton neighborhood. On the day of the shooting, his wife and three children, including Kendra, had come to visit him. Tragically, the visit ended in a family tragedy, as it was discovered that Farler had multiple weapons in his room.
Dayton Police Major Brian Johns described the incident as a profound tragedy, emphasizing that the stories provided by Farler were inconsistent with the evidence. Farler initially attempted to blame his daughter’s death on his 15-year-old autistic stepson, but investigators quickly determined the falsehood of his claims. As a result, prosecutors approved charges against Farler, including involuntary manslaughter, reckless homicide, endangering children, and illegal possession of weapons due to his previous convictions.
Visitation for Kendra will be held at the Schlientz & Moore Funeral Home on Wayne Avenue in Dayton at noon. Following the visitation, a graveside service will take place to bid farewell to Kendra and honor her memory.
