Mohannad Othman Death – On Sunday evening, a tragic incident unfolded in Oak Forest, resulting in the shooting of four individuals.
Among the victims were a 12-year-old girl and two teenagers. Sadly, one man lost his life during the incident. The events occurred in multiple locations, and the police were alerted just after 5 p.m. that day.
The initial report of shots fired came from the 5500 block of Babette Court. Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement discovered three individuals who had sustained gunshot wounds.
While investigating the shooting, officers received information about a vehicle that may have been involved.
They located the vehicle and stopped it in the 5900 block of 159th Street, where they found another victim who had been shot. This individual was also taken to the hospital for treatment.
During the encounter with the vehicle, the police apprehended a person of interest without any issues.
Although it is still unclear where each victim was found, an update provided by the police on Monday revealed that a 39-year-old man had been fatally shot in the head.
He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. The man was identified as Mohannad Othman by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
Additionally, a 12-year-old girl was shot while standing in a neighboring driveway. Fortunately, she is in stable condition and receiving medical care.
Two 19-year-old women were also shot in their legs. One of them has been treated and released from the hospital, while the other remains hospitalized.
The police have assured the public that they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to safety. However, the investigation is still ongoing, and further details are expected to be released later this week.
