Montrell Curtis, 32-Year-Old Elkhart Man Killed after Crash at Indiana, Benham Avenue
The Elkhart Police Department Fatal Crash Team is currently looking into the fatal one-car crash that happened close to the intersection of West Indiana Avenue and Benham Avenue.
At approximately 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 21st, an officer on patrol from the Elkhart Police Department noticed a Pontiac Torrent that had collided with a light pole. Inside the SUV were two individuals.
Upon arrival, the Elkhart Fire Department assisted in extricating the trapped occupants from the vehicle. Medical professionals swiftly transported both men to the hospital.
Unfortunately, Montrell Curtis, a 32-year-old resident of Elkhart and the front-seat passenger were pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after.
The driver, a 27-year-old man also from Elkhart, remains in critical condition as of Monday morning.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is still ongoing.
