A man from Warden has passed away and a passenger from Moses Lake has been injured following a rollover accident that occurred early Sunday on Highway 170.
According to the Washington State Patrol, Jose E. Valdivia, aged 25, was traveling eastbound around 1 a.m.
just west of Warden when his 2007 BMW veered off the road and overturned, eventually coming to a stop on its roof.
Upon arrival of the rescue team, Valdivia was pronounced dead at the scene, while his 22-year-old passenger, Alejandro Jimenez Velasco from Moses Lake, sustained injuries and was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.
Troopers have reported that Jimenez was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, unlike Valdivia. The exact cause of the crash is currently being investigated.
