McKenzie,Cambric Obituary – McKenzie and Cambric were discovered deceased in a residence on Woodrow Avenue in south Lansing last week. The Lansing Police Department reported the incident as a double homicide that occurred on Thursday night.
A person of interest in connection with the case was apprehended around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday. The suspect, identified as Dennis (Josh) Whaley, 51, was taken into custody by the authorities.
The Lansing Police Department has refrained from disclosing further information regarding the case. Details such as the location of Whaley’s arrest, the circumstances surrounding it, and the possibility of him facing charges related to the homicides or the subsequent search remain undisclosed.
According to Jordan Gulkis, the Public Information Director of the Lansing Police Department, Whaley was already known to law enforcement prior to the incident. Gulkis stated on Friday that the case is believed to be linked to a domestic situation. Although no arrests have been made thus far, the suspect is familiar to the police.
These recent homicides mark the second and third cases of the year in Lansing, both occurring within the last two weeks. Another individual, who sustained a gunshot wound on April 10, succumbed to his injuries days later.
