A tragic incident occurred in Highland County on Saturday morning, resulting in the death of a 15-year-old and the hospitalization of two other teenagers.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that a 17-year-old was driving a Ford Focus on State Route 73 near Berrysville Road in Hillsboro when the vehicle veered off the road, colliding with a mailbox and a tree.
Both the driver and another 17-year-old passenger were taken to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.
Sadly, the 15-year-old passenger was airlifted to Miami Valley Hospital but succumbed to their injuries on Monday.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol has identified the victim as Addison Howard.
The Ohio Department of Transportation, Paint Creek Fire and EMS, Miami Valley CareFlight, and the Highland County Sheriff’s Office are all contributing to the investigation into the collision.
