Lockdown following shooting threat at Severna Park High School in Anne Arundel County, MD

Anne Arundel County Police Department is investigating a shooting threat at Severna Park High School in Severna Park, Maryland, on Tuesday.

According to the Anne Arundel County Police Department, students have been secured in place after a threat was received earlier today.

The department said the school, which is also under Arundel County Public Schools, is currently on lockdown, although there is no evidence of a weapon inside the school or the school property. Locals have been asked to avoid the school campus due to police investigations.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department released the following statement following the ongoing incident: We are currently investigating a threat of possible violence to Severna Park High School. The high school and middle school are currently on lockdown.

There is no evidence of weapons inside the school or on school property. There is a heavy police presence in the area, as officers are investigating the reported threat. We are asking community members to avoid the area while the investigation continues.

Severna Park High School is located at 60 Robinson Rd., Severna Park, MD, under the Arundel County Public Schools. The school district have not released an official statement in regards to the ongoing incident. This is a developing story.
