Bruce Coval Menely, 67-Year-Old Pedophile Shot Dead in Seattle Police Standoff Identified as Retired Captain Bruce Coval Menely
The Seattle Police Department has publicly released the bodycam film capturing the moment when law enforcement officers in Seattle fatally shot an individual accused of sexual predation.
The suspect brandished a firearm at the officers during a sting operation, mistakenly believing that he was meeting with two underage individuals (11 and 7 years old).
According to the Seattle Police Department (SPD), the 67-year-old suspect, now identified by Vet Radio Syndicate as ex-Medical Officer and retired Naval Captain Bruce Coval Menely, came to a DoubleTree Suites hotel in Tukwila at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
Several SPD officers from the Washington State Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce were waiting for him at a hotel room door, undercover and prepared to arrest him. Upon the police’s entrance, the suspect brandished a pistol, prompting one of the policemen to engage in a struggle to disarm the man.
As two more cops fired multiple shots at the subject, a gunshot was heard, resulting in his immediate death. One of the officers had a superficial wound from a bullet during the fatal event but is anticipated to make a full recovery.
“For those of you who have seen the shooting at the hotel in Seattle of the 67-year-old who came to the room to have sexual relations with a 7 and 11-year-old, the Seattle Coroner has released his identity.
He is retired Captain (0-6) Bruce Coval Menely. He oversaw emergency medicine at Guantanamo Bay and served under the Bush and Obama administrations,” Vet Radio Syndicate wrote on Facebook.
