Emily Johnson Of Studio City Dies In Fatal Stabbing On Metro B Line Train

In the early hours of Monday, tragedy struck as Emily Johnson, a resident of Studio City, met her untimely demise in a stabbing incident aboard a Metro B Line train at the Universal City Station.

The assault, described as unprovoked, occurred at approximately 5 a.m., prompting a swift emergency response.

Following the attack, Emily Johnson, having sustained severe injuries, alighted the train upon its arrival at the station situated in the 3900 block of Lankershim Boulevard.

Urgent medical attention was provided by the Los Angeles Fire Department, yet despite their efforts, Johnson tragically succumbed to her wounds after being transported to a local hospital.

Authorities swiftly apprehended a suspect identified as 45-year-old Elliot Tramel Nowden, approximately 30 minutes subsequent to the assault.

Nowden’s arrest took place near Ventura Boulevard and Vineland Avenue, under the purview of the Los Angeles Police Department. He faces charges of murder and is currently detained on $2 million in bail.

On behalf of the company, Metro spokesperson Dave Sotero offered condolences and acknowledged the tragic loss Johnson’s family and friends had experienced.

He recounted the events leading to the fatal incident, highlighting the prompt response by Metro contract security and emergency medical personnel.

The aftermath of the tragedy prompted the closure of the Studio City station, disrupting transit services along the Metro B Line route.

Passengers, including visitors to nearby Universal Studios Hollywood, were redirected as buses facilitated transportation through the affected area. The station resumed operations following the conclusion of the investigative procedures.
