Paula J. Williams,Phillip A. Williams Obituary – Three individuals have lost their lives in a house fire that occurred in rural Rose Hill during the early hours of Saturday morning, according to undersheriff Daimon Cundiff of the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.
The victims have been identified as Paula J. Williams, aged 80, Phillip A. Williams, aged 55, and Melissa K. Williams, aged 52. Cundiff further stated that all three individuals resided in the house where the tragic incident took place.
The fire was reported shortly after 3 a.m. at a residence located in the 15400 block of Southwest County Line Road. Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered the home completely engulfed in flames. The two women inside the house made separate calls to 911.
The first call was made by a distressed woman with an unspecified problem, while the second call came from another woman who reported that the house was filling with smoke, impairing her vision. Firefighters managed to rescue Paula Williams by breaking through a window in the one-story home.
However, she succumbed to her injuries after being transported to a hospital, as stated in a news release by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office. Phillip Williams and Melissa Williams were later found in the main living area of the house once the fire had been extinguished.
A fire investigator from the Augusta Fire Department of Public Safety is currently working to determine the cause of the fire. Regrettably, the home has been declared a total loss, according to Cundiff.
