The Marion community was rocked by tragedy on Monday morning when an accident involving a stolen vehicle claimed the life of one adolescent and left three others critically injured. The devastating collision occurred at 6:38 a.m. on April 29th, on Cochran Road just south of Marion, according to reports from the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle, traveling in an easterly direction, veered off the road and collided with a tree, resulting in tragic consequences.
At the time of the accident, the vehicle was occupied by four children and teenagers. Each of the occupants sustained injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention. Tragically, it was later confirmed that the driver of the vehicle had succumbed to their injuries, while the other three occupants remained in critical condition, fighting for their lives. An ongoing investigation seeks to uncover the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking incident.
Among the victims of this tragedy was Hunter Lincoln, born to Bart and Jennifer Lincoln on June 13, 1996. Hunter was a standout athlete during his time at Marion High School, where he excelled in football and etched his name in the school’s history books with a record for career interceptions. His athletic prowess was matched only by his magnetic personality, and he was crowned Homecoming King in 2015 before graduating with the class of 2015.
Beyond the football field, Hunter found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was attending music festivals, fishing, hunting, or indulging in his passion for mushroom hunting. He had a keen eye for the finer things in life and had a strong affinity for designer labels. Yet, despite his larger-than-life presence, Hunter was beloved by all who knew him for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering loyalty.
In September 2023, Hunter exchanged vows with the love of his life, Kierra Peppers Lincoln, at Starlight Lake, embarking on a journey of love and companionship that brought him immeasurable joy and fulfillment. His devotion to Kierra was unwavering, and she brought a newfound sense of purpose and meaning to his life. In addition to his personal life, Hunter was a respected coal miner at Knight Hawk Coal, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues.
Tragically, Hunter’s life was cut short, leaving behind a community in mourning and a family grappling with profound loss. As his loved ones mourn his passing, they find solace in the memories of a remarkable young man whose impact on the world will never be forgotten. Among the many joys Hunter looked forward to was the prospect of becoming an uncle, with his sister Halli and Cedric Carter expecting a daughter in June. Though his time on earth was tragically brief, Hunter’s legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
