Fatal Shooting of Quincy Johnson, 40: Jaquarius Lewis Arrested and Charged with Murder in Connection with April 18 Incident at 7959 Sunbury Street
A significant development has occurred in the investigation into the fatal shooting of Quincy Johnson, 40, which took place on April 18 at 7959 Sunbury Street. Jaquarius Lewis, 25, has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the incident.
According to the Houston Police Department (HPD), officers responded to a shooting call at the address around 7:10 p.m. and found Johnson unresponsive in his apartment. Despite the efforts of Houston Fire Department paramedics, Johnson was pronounced deceased at the scene due to a gunshot wound.
Witnesses reported that Johnson was standing on his balcony when two male suspects walked by and shot him. Following an investigation and review of evidence, including surveillance photos released on May 2, Lewis was identified as the shooter and arrested on May 3.
Lewis has been charged with murder in the 178th State District Court and is currently in custody. A second male suspect identified in the surveillance photos was questioned and released without charges. The investigation is ongoing to determine if a third suspect was involved.
