Mary Rafferty, Beloved Matriarch of Union Beach, New Jersey, Passes Away at 83, Leaving Behind a Legacy of Love and Devotion to Her Family and Community

Mary Rafferty, a cherished member of the Union Beach community, passed away on May 5, 2024, at the age of 83. Her passing has left a profound impact on her family, friends, and all those who knew her. Born and raised in Union Beach, Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose love and kindness touched the lives of countless individuals.

Mary is survived by her three daughters, Carol Anne Bouchard, Karen Kelly, and Pauline Goebel, who were the center of her universe. Her daughters remember her as a selfless and caring mother, who always put the needs of others before her own. Mary’s love and support were unwavering, and her family was the beneficiary of her unconditional love and devotion.

In addition to her daughters, Mary is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy and happiness to her life. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Mary’s love and legacy will continue to live on through her family, who will deeply miss her presence in their lives.

Mary’s passing has also left a void in the Union Beach community, where she was an active and beloved member. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and compassion, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her warm smile and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A visitation will be held on May 7, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on May 8, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, located at 3269 State Route 35 in Hazlet, New Jersey. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, located at 727 Highway 36 in Union Beach, New Jersey, at 10:00 a.m. on May 8, 2024.

Mary’s family invites friends and loved ones to attend the visitation and Mass to celebrate her life and share in their grief. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary’s name to a charity of one’s choice, as she was a supporter of various charitable organizations throughout her life.

Mary’s life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and compassion. Her legacy will continue to inspire and motivate those who knew her, and her memory will be cherished by her family and the community for generations to come.
