Community Rallies Around Family of David LeBoeuf, 20, Who Heroically Lost His Life Saving His Brother in Northbridge Stabbing; GoFundMe Campaign Established to Support Funeral Expenses and Young Family
A tragic incident occurred on Friday evening in Northbridge, MA, resulting in the loss of 20-year-old David LeBoeuf’s life. According to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office, LeBoeuf was fatally stabbed on the town common during a fight involving individuals who knew each other.
LeBoeuf’s mother, Amy, has revealed that the fight was between her younger son and another individual, and David intervened to protect his brother. “He died a hero saving his younger brother,” she said. “… That’s who he was, would do anything for the people he cared for.”
David was a long-time baseball player and shared his parents’ passion for music. He had recently developed a strong interest in cooking and had dreams of opening his own restaurant. Tragically, David’s life was cut short just as he was starting a new career, buying a new car, and preparing to become a father and husband.
A GoFundMe campaign has been established to support David’s family with funeral expenses and other needs. The campaign has already raised over $15,000 of its $50,000 goal as of Wednesday morning.
The community is rallying around David’s family, remembering him as a hero who gave his life to save his brother. His mother describes him as someone who would do anything for those he cared about.
David’s wake will take place at Sansoucy Funeral Home in Southbridge on Wednesday, May 15 from 4 to 7 pm, followed by a funeral service at the residence the next day at 10 am.
All donations to the GoFundMe campaign will go towards covering funeral expenses, with any remaining funds going to support David’s young family, including his soon-to-be-born child.
The incident has shaken the community, and authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the stabbing. A 17-year-old boy was taken into custody in connection with the incident, and another 17-year-old boy suffered life-threatening injuries.
