Makhi was a kind and caring individual who was known for his exceptional skills on the basketball court. Ramel Williams, a neighbor who played a significant role in raising Makhi, described him as a person who cared deeply for others and possessed a genuine passion and kind heart. “He was not one of those rebellious or pretentious youngsters,” Williams said.
According to investigators, the fatal incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon when a group of boys intervened to break up a fight between two groups of girls in a walkway connecting Spring Street and Dominick Street. Tragically, the altercation ended in gunfire, claiming the life of the teenager from Flatbush. Neighbor Lakesha Jenkins shared, “If he noticed any trouble brewing, he would step in and try to resolve the situation. He was not a troublemaker by any means.”
