North Lubbock Shooting: 16-Year-Old Arrested and Charged with Murder of Adrian Davila, 32, in North Lubbock Shooting; Lubbock Police Department Collaborates with Multiple Agencies to Apprehend Suspect
A devastating shooting incident in North Lubbock has resulted in the tragic death of 32-year-old Adrian Davila, and a 16-year-old suspect has been arrested and charged with murder. The Lubbock Police Department responded to an initial report of a hit-and-run with injuries on Wednesday at 3:25 a.m. in the area of North Loop 289 and Interstate 27. However, further investigation revealed that Davila’s injuries were consistent with a shooting.
According to the Lubbock Police Department, Davila and the 16-year-old suspect were both passengers in a vehicle traveling in the area when they got into a verbal altercation. The teenager then pulled out a gun and shot Davila, who was subsequently pushed out of the vehicle and left in the southbound lanes of I-27.
A collaborative effort between multiple agencies, including the Lubbock Police Department, the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Lubbock Texas Anti-Gang Center, led to the identification and apprehension of the suspect. Notably, the suspect was already subject to an outstanding Directive to Apprehend from the 99th District Court for an unrelated case.
On Thursday, investigators with the Texas Anti-Gang Center located the juvenile suspect in the 1900 block of Avenue L just before 3:00 p.m. The suspect was then transported to the Lubbock County Juvenile Justice Center, where they face charges of murder in connection with Davila’s tragic death.
