Tom Kalista, Beloved Husband and Dedicated Pharmacist, Passes Away on May 7, Leaving Behind a Legacy of Love, Laughter, and Devotion
Thomas J. Kalista, a 34-year-old resident of East Greenwich, Rhode Island, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, leaving behind a loving family, friends, and a community that cherished him. He was the beloved husband of Hannah Fish and the son of William and Kathy (Morrison) Kalista.
Tom was born in New Britain, Connecticut, and grew up with a passion for sports, music, and helping others. He studied pharmacy at the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy and later became a clinical assistant professor of pharmacy practice, inspiring countless students with his dedication and expertise.
Tom’s love for sports was unmatched, and he was an avid fan of Chelsea FC, the Buffalo Bills, the Washington Capitals, the Washington Nationals, and the New York Yankees. He was thrilled to be an inaugural season ticket holder for RIFC and looked forward to cheering on his teams with friends and family.
In addition to his love for sports, Tom was an avid golfer and had planned to participate in the local Golf Fights Cancer 100 Rounds of Golf. He shared his passion for golf with family and friends, and his infectious enthusiasm brought joy to all who played with him.
Tom’s love for music was a constant source of comfort and inspiration in his life. He was a skilled musician and often shared his talents with those around him, bringing people together through the power of music.
As a loving husband, son, brother, uncle, and father to his Omani fur baby, Soto, Tom brightened every room he entered and made everyone laugh with his quick wit and infectious sense of humor. He was a devoted family man and cherished every moment with his loved ones.
Tom’s passing has left a void in the lives of those who knew and loved him, but his legacy of love, laughter, and devotion will live on through the countless lives he touched. His family and friends will remember him for his unwavering support, his generous spirit, and his unrelenting enthusiasm for life.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 14th, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown, Connecticut. The Funeral Liturgy will take place on Wednesday, May 15th, at 11 a.m. at St. Bridget of Kildare Church in Moodus, Connecticut.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy or the Golf Fights Cancer organization, two causes that were close to Tom’s heart.
